Android CrashPlayer Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Overview
CrashPlayer is a game player application that runs CrashCart game bundles on your Android phone and tablet. It is developed by Crash Continuum LLC.
CrashPlayer works entirely on your device and collects no personal data — unless you choose to link a Crash BASIC Arcade account. Linking is optional, and CrashPlayer is fully usable without one. If you never link an account, nothing leaves your device.
What CrashPlayer Stores on Your Device
- Game files. CrashCart game bundles you import, or download from your Arcade library, are stored in the app's private storage.
- Save data. Game progress and save files are stored locally in the app's private storage.
- Account token. If you link a Crash BASIC Arcade account, an access token is stored on this device using Android's encrypted storage (EncryptedSharedPreferences), protected by a device-bound key held in the Android Keystore. It stays on this device, is never sent anywhere except back to Crash BASIC Arcade to authenticate your own requests, and is explicitly excluded from all device backups and device-to-device transfers.
Account Linking (Optional)
You may link CrashPlayer to a Crash BASIC Arcade account so you can play the games in your library on this device.
When you link a device, the app sends to our servers (arcade.crashbasic.com, over HTTPS):
- The device model name your device reports — for example, "Google Pixel 8" or "Samsung SM-G998U" — so you can recognize and manage this device in your account's device list.
- The platform, which is always the literal string "android".
Associated with your account, our servers then retain: that this device is linked, the device model name and platform above, the date the device was linked, and the IP address and time the device was last seen. The IP address and last-seen time exist so you can spot a device you don't recognize and revoke it.
We use this only to operate account linking and to show you your library. We do not use it for tracking or profiling, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties.
Retention. We keep this only while the device is linked. Unlinking the device deletes it.
How to Delete Your Data
- Unlink the device. In CrashPlayer, open the Arcade account screen and choose Unlink. You can also unlink it from your account on the Crash BASIC Arcade website. Either action deletes that device's linkage record — including its device name, link date, and last-seen IP — from our servers, and erases the access token from the device.
- Delete local data. Uninstalling CrashPlayer, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, removes all games, saves, and the stored token from your device.
- Delete your Arcade account. Account deletion is handled on the Crash BASIC Arcade website, or by writing to [email protected].
Android Auto Backup (Optional)
Android includes a system backup feature (Auto Backup) that, if enabled on your device, copies app data to your own Google account's private backup so it can be restored to a new device. For CrashPlayer this covers your game library and game bundles (names, icons, settings) and your game save files.
This backup goes to your own Google account, is not accessible to us or to any third party, and is a system feature you control in your device's Settings. Your Arcade access token is explicitly excluded from it, so a restored or transferred device starts out unlinked and you link it again deliberately.
Permissions
CrashPlayer requests only these permissions:
- Internet and network state — used solely to reach Crash BASIC Arcade when you link an account and download games from your library. If you never link an account, the app makes no network requests.
- Read external storage (Android 12 and earlier only) — used solely to import
.crashcartgame files that you pick yourself. On Android 13 and later this is not requested at all; file access goes through the system file picker.
CrashPlayer does not scan your storage. It opens only the specific files you choose.
What CrashPlayer Does Not Collect
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising
- No location data
- No contacts or calendar access
- No camera or microphone access
- No photos or media library access
Games running inside CrashPlayer are sandboxed by the Crash BASIC interpreter, which exposes only 2D graphics, audio, input, and local save storage. A game cannot reach the network, camera, microphone, contacts, or any other device feature, and cannot grant itself permissions the app does not have.
Third-Party Services
CrashPlayer integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services. The app contains no such SDKs.
The only network service CrashPlayer contacts is Crash BASIC Arcade, which is our own service. The only other external service involved is Android's built-in Auto Backup, which is a Google system feature operating on your own Google account and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties, for advertising or otherwise. The only data that leaves your device is what you send to Crash BASIC Arcade when you choose to link an account, as described above, and whatever Android Auto Backup copies into your own private Google account backup.
Children's Privacy
CrashPlayer is not directed to children under 13. Linking requires a Crash BASIC Arcade account, and Arcade accounts require users to be at least 13 years old. CrashPlayer itself collects no personal information from anyone, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version at this address with an updated date.
